Position : Procurement Specialist

Objective:

The Procurement Specialist plays a critical role in the procurement process by managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. They are responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the acquisition of materials, equipment, and services to meet the organization’s needs while adhering to budgetary constraints and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize purchasing processes and achieve cost savings.
  • Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, pricing, and quality to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and provide guidance on procurement best practices.
  • Monitor inventory levels and track procurement activities to ensure adequate stock levels and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Analyze market trends and conduct market research to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations, including ethical sourcing practices and diversity initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Provide support and guidance to other departments on procurement-related matters, including budgeting, forecasting, and supplier selection.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business Admin / Supply chain Management/ related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
