Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the entire food division – supermarket, bakery, and catering businesses. This strategic leadership role involves developing and implementing financial strategies to support business growth, ensuring financial stability, and driving profitability. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and senior management to align financial objectives with the company’s vision and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and execute long-term financial strategies to support the growth of Grandiose’s supermarket, bakery, and catering divisions.
- Support strategic initiative: Develop and support key strategic initiatives to drive profitability
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to ensure accurate and timely insights for decision-making.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and working capital optimization to support operational needs and expansion plans.
- Cost Management: Implement cost control measures and drive operational efficiencies, particularly in high-cost areas such as supply chain, production, and logistics.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market volatility, currency fluctuations, and regulatory compliance.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
- Investment and Funding: Evaluate and manage investment opportunities, capital expenditure, and funding strategies to support business growth and acquisitions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal teams (operations, procurement, marketing) and external stakeholders (banks, auditors, investors) to align financial objectives.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial health and operational efficiency across all business units.
- Technology Integration: Leverage financial systems and technologies to streamline processes and enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Statutory Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to UAE regulatory requirements and IFRS standards.
- Internal Audit: Lead and coordinate internal audit processes, ensuring robust controls, risk mitigation, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- ERP Implementation: Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to integrate financial, supply chain, and operational processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives, cost efficiency, and seamless adoption across departments.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role (CFO or equivalent) in the Grocery retail industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the food retail, bakery, or catering sectors, including supply chain dynamics, inventory management, and cost structures.
- Financial Expertise: Proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, with a track record of driving profitability and growth.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and align cross-functional teams.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including board members, investors, and operational teams.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of UAE financial regulations, IFRS, and corporate governance standards.
- Technology Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in financial modeling and reporting tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in managing finances for multi-unit retail or food businesses.
- Familiarity with mergers, acquisitions, or business expansion in the GCC region.
