About the job
The Junior Accountant will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the finance department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail. This role will utilize strong accounting knowledge, time management skills and effective problem solving to ensure success.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in management of day-to-day accounting operations
- Invoicing & Cash Application
- Processing Vendor Payments
- Assists in performing general ledger accounting functions as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of ensuring that department functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Accounting for Fixed Assets & Depreciation
- Expense Booking, Provision & Accruals
- Accounting for Leases
- Cash and Bank entries and reconciliation
- Prepare inter-company reconciliation
- Assisting with month-end, quarter-end and year-end tasks
- Filing and Records Retention
- Adhoc work
Other requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Higher Degree in Commerce/Accounting/Finance (BCom/MCom/CA Foundation / ICWA Inter / MBA Finance)
- 1-4 years relevant work experience in AR, AP & GL (Preferably in the UAE)
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Strong understanding of IFRS, International Accounting Standards, VAT laws and its implementation in UAE, will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to work independently and in a team oriented environment
- A hard-working team player
