Position Overview

The Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting and bookkeeping to maintain the finance and accounting policies and procedures, and ensuring that they are properly implemented across the company. The right candidate will be comfortable in taking overall responsibility for the accuracy and timely reported financial information to the company managers.

Responsibilities

  • Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
  • Managing income and expenditure accounts
  • Generating the company’s financial reports (profit and loss, balance sheet cash flow) using income and expenditure data
  • Understanding the tax requirements in the GCC and Egypt and filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations as required
  • Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting practices and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Recommend policies, procedures and actions on issues that relate to finance
  • Assist auditors in providing supporting documentation
  • Prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions before settlement.
  • Help establish, modify, document, and coordinate the implementation of accounting control procedures.
  • Daily oversight of assigned company accounts
  • Review all company accounts on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis to ensure compliance with general accounting principles and company procedures and closings.
  • Maintain an understanding of the business to be able to question transactions and raise any issues or recommendations to management.
  • Enforce company policy for security control
  • Keep all pending and outstanding issues in order in case of absence.
  • Provide weekly and monthly management reports
  • Other duties as required.

Required Skills and Experience

•      Licensed as Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

•      Fluent English and Arabic verbal and written skills

•      Experience of VAT with Egyptian experience is desirable

•      Extreme attention to detail and written documentation

•      Ability to communicate effectively

•      Highly motivated and enjoys working autonomously

•      Ability to work as part of a team

•      Proficient in various accounting computer systems and software applications

•      Culturally sensitive, cross-cultural work experience

•      Good ICT skills

•      Excellent time management skills and multi-tasker

•      Experience in handling confidential information

•      The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
