About the job

As an Assistant Manager Finance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial operations. This includes the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end standalone and consolidated financials in accordance with IFRS.

Additionally, you will be responsible for reporting to stakeholders, supporting annual budget preparation and analysis, and ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and statutory requirements. A successful candidate is responsible for:

Accounting & Control:

  • Ensure accurate capturing of transactions in compliance with published policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor and facilitate the timely preparation and publication of financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances between group entities/related parties.
  • Implement and follow cut-off procedures on a quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Perform balance sheet reviews and suggest corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal and statutory audits, addressing all action points related to internal audit reports.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and publish timely management reports and ad-hoc reports as required by stakeholders.

Valuation:

  • Ensure all listed investments are valued at mark to market (MTM) at each reporting period.
  • Test equity investments for impairment at year-end in line with IFRS requirements.
  • Record appropriate accounting entries related to derivatives (Hedging/Swap).

IT Platform & Master Data:

  • Optimize ERP utilization for financial preparation and presentation.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of master files such as payroll, bank accounts, asset register, loan master, vendor master, etc.

Treasury:

  • Support in monitoring, disbursement, and accounting of working capital.

Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with direct/indirect tax processes, covering corporate tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes.

Payroll:

  • Maintain payroll master file.
  • Review monthly payroll and facilitate the disbursement of salaries in coordination with HR.

Budget:

  • Support in the preparation of the annual budget for the entity.
  • Design and update budget templates for the collation of information.
  • Review and publish budget vs. actual variance analysis on a monthly basis.

Qualifications:

  • CA/ACCA/CPA from a recognized professional institution.
  • Qualified finance professional with 5 -7 years experience in a large conglomerate/Big 4/Corporate Secretarial services provider.
  • Well-versed with IFRS and its practical implementation.
  • Ability to understand the accounting implications and provide accounting advice.
  • Strong technical accounting background.
  • Very strong communication skills, ability to develop good working relationships, adept at working individually and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze data and problem-solve.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite.
