Acacus Group is looking for a Cost Accountant
Position Summary
The cost accountant will report to the Internal Compliance Manager and will immediately impact our productivity, streamlining costs and ensuring cost efficiencies across multiple departments. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the manufacturing industry, with a special focus on cost accounting. The cost accountant is responsible for measuring expenditures and ensuring that expenses are well-planned and have measurable outcomes. They create expense reports, analyze data on what has been purchased or the incurred costs regarding manufacturing and software development, and make recommendations about cost efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect cost information and maintain an expense database.
- Construct data accumulation systems
- Review and monitor fixed costs (e.g., salaries, rent, and insurance)
- Plan and record variable costs (e.g., purchases of raw material and operations costs)
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
- Analyze and report product and service margins.
- Prepare (monthly, quarterly, and annual) cost forecasts.
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Develop product costing for current and proposed products considering all cost elements.
- Review of bills of material with physical consumption for manufactured products and services.
- Calculation of process costs for different types of products.
- Calculating manufacturing and software development overhead using the standard cost method.
- Calculation of overhead rates and allocation of overheads to products.
- Review of the variances (rate and consumption) and reporting of the same.
- Prepare cost trends for various categories of raw materials and highlight any anomalies or unusual trends.

MINIMUM Requirements
Education / Certification:
- A degree in Accounting, Business Management, or Business Administration
Experience:
- 5+ years of cost accounting.
