About the role
This is an exciting and dynamic role for an individual to contribute to a growing team of accounting firms to meet their client’s operational requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of fund accounting and financial reporting for various investment entities.
Working experience in FUND INDUSTRY OR AUDIT OF INVESTMENT FUNDS is a must with the ability to work independently.
Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of accounting matters including bookkeeping, preparing and reconciling statements, and reconciliation and payment processing
- Update and analyze general ledger accounts including bank accounts, receivables, and payables accounts, and perform reconciliations
- Prepare excel schedules of main P&L and balance sheet items
- Perform investment monitoring and distribution processing, including but not limited to waterfall calculations and IRR calculations
- Review budgets vs actual results and highlight/explain reasons for major deviations on a monthly basis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual financial reports & statements
- Create presentations and analyses summarizing the financial performance of investments
- Co-ordinate year-end audits
- Liaise with tax advisers and provide the required information
- Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to policies, processes & standards
- Adhoc tasks as required by management
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
Qualifications
- ACCA / ACA / CPA or equivalent required
- 7+ years post qualification experience
- Ideally has exposure to investment industry / financial services in a recognized jurisdiction
Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with good analytical skills
- Strong business acumen with a willingness to provide management orientated insights
- Focused on providing accurate and on-time reports to clients
- Self-motivated and capable to work independently
- Well-spoken with good written English with strong communication skills
- Strong understanding of accounting standards
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves
