The Senior Accountant will oversee and manage the financial operations of the retail division, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial controls. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of handling complex accounting functions while providing valuable insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts within the ERP system.
  • Monitor and review transactions to ensure accurate coding and compliance.
  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Manage the timely accounting and reimbursement of Petty Cash for Retail Stores and the Head Office.
  • Conduct regular audits, implementing corrective actions as necessary to ensure adherence to both local and international regulations.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budgetary performance and conduct variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and oversee internal controls to protect company assets.
  • Support the preparation process for internal and external audits.
  • Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to support management decision-making.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and efficiencies.
  • Engage in projects related to system upgrades and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with various departments and company management to provide financial insights and support.
  • Assist and mentor junior accountants as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Strong understanding of general ledger functions and reconciliation processes.
  • Expertise in accounts payable and receivable management.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and internal control best practices.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
