About the job

We are searching for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting processes for our multiple regions. You will work closely with regional accounting teams, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with international accounting standards.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Work collaboratively with regional accounting teams and other departments (e.g., tax, engineering) to ensure smooth financial operations
  • Stay up to date on changes in international accounting standards and regulations

General Ledger Maintenance:

  • Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and comply with accounting standards
  • Reconcile accounts, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany transactions

Month-End and Year-End Close Processes:

  • Close the books for assigned regions on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Participation in preparing financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate closing of accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and other regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate and support external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis

Internal Controls:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures
  • Identify and address weaknesses in internal controls

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems or updates to existing systems

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience in public accounting offices or a similar industry role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
