Major Functions

Perform consolidation activities of the group, review financial transactions and reconcile with accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial data and compliance to all internal/regulatory/IFRS protocols. Prepares Accounting/Financial reports by analysing related accounting data.

Essential Functions

Financial reporting

External Reporting Activities

  • Detailed coordination with Group auditors to ensure smooth completion of audits, including resolving audit queries, coordination of information for audit and review of audit reports and audit deliverables.
  • Responsible for preparing and coordinating in the quarterly/annual statutory Audit of standalone entities as well as for group consolidation.
  • Responsible for maintaining and upgrading (up to schedule level details), the automated consolidation tool – BPC
  • Responsible for data gathering and other coordination activities for ESR filings in local as well as offshore jurisdictions.
  • Should be well versed with the implications of UAE CT laws, particularly those surrounding Holdcos, FZEs, exempt income, audit disclosures as per IFRS, etc.
  • Responsible for advising on practical applications of the UAE VAT law, particularly dealing with FZEs in the aviation sector.
  • Responsible for arranging data and support activities for any other compliance requirements.
  • Assist with any other ad-hoc external reporting as and when it arises.

Internal Reporting

  • Responsible for adhering to the monthly close timetable of the company and for post-close activities, including consolidation of results at a group level.
  • Periodic review of general ledger and other accounting records of group entities and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Detailed understanding of the underlying accounting records and transactions to ensure appropriate consolidation entries are recorded.
  • Responsible for preparing accounting positioning papers/advice on the treatment of critical accounting matters/transactions of the group based on IFRS principles.
  • Responsible for preparing materials to be submitted for the quarterly board reporting pack.
  • Responsible for assisting in the creation of automated group reporting dashboards.
  • Responsible for preparing and analyzing weekly funds position reports for management.

Enhancement/streamlining Activities

  • Assist in conceptualization, implementation, roll out and upkeep of a comprehensive group reporting plan
  • Should take the initiative in assisting with the automation of multiple manual reports.
  • Work to extend the ability of the BPC tool to be a one-stop solution for snap retrieval of consolidated numbers, serving multiple reporting needs.

Sustainability Reporting

  • Coordinate and compile information for Group’s Sustainability Report by coordinating with various stakeholders across the Group.
  • Assist in the preparation of Group’s Sustainability Reports, including checking accuracy, completeness and appropriateness of the reporting including ensuring compliance with the applicable Sustainability Reporting Standards.
  • Obtain an understanding of the various sustainability reporting standards and maintain detailed knowledge of the sustainability reporting standards applicable to the Group’s Sustainability Reports.

Data Accuracy, Documentation and Confidentiality

  • Identifies, investigates, and rectifies routine errors and anomalies in data and reports so that all financial data can be relied upon.
  • Maintains financial files and information in a way that allows ease of retrieval of information and reports.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information being handled.

Reporting and Communication

  • Reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting on all work activities.
  • Liaises with various internal and external stakeholders to carry out responsibilities assigned.
  • Maintains and exhibits excellent working relationships with all Crescent staff.

Continuous Improvement of Position

  • Maintains professional and technical Accounting/Financial knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications. Undertakes studies toward professional accounting qualification. Recommends subsequent actions to senior management.

Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required

  • Professional certification CA OR ACCA

Minimum Professional Experience Required

  • 8 to 10 years of relevant consolidation Accounting and reporting experience, especially in a Holdco setup involving complex holding structures.
  • Undertaking study towards professional accounting qualifications

Knowledge Of Important Compliance Law

  • UAE ESR
  • UAE VAT
  • UAE Corporate Tax
  • IFRS – Advanced level of knowledge/experience is a must.

Systems Skills

  • S4/Hana (Preferable)
  • BPC for consolidation (Preferable)
  • PowerBi (will be a plus point)
