Audit & Assurance | Accounting and Reporting Advisory (ARA) – Assistant Manager

In your role as an Accounting and Reporting Advisory (ARA) – Assistant Manager, you will participate in client proposals and oversee day-to-day operations of engagements. You will leverage your various skillsets to be an agile contributor to the practice, and you will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas:

  • Conduct research on various technical issues under IFRS and other local GAAPs and provide input into the preparation of high-quality technical reports and presentations.
  • Actively contribute to the development of client proposals, including drafting scope of work and project budgets.
  • Collaborate and work closely with managers, senior managers, partners, and clients to influence strategy and balance risks and client expectations.
  • Draft revenue recognition and leasing accounting policies under IFRS and other local GAAPs for clients.
  • Lead and deliver engagements for preparation of financial statements under IFRS and other local GAAP frameworks for clients of diversified industries.
  • Ensure that the engagement team fully understands the distinctive objectives, goals, and expectations of the clients.
  • Prepare training to educate the client of the potential impact of the new accounting standards on their financial statements and systems.
  • Actively involved in devising of project planning and strategy. Work closely with leadership to manage projects locally and internationally.
  • Depending on relevant experience, manage projects such as:
  • Complex accounting advice on abnormal transactions or acquisitions
  • Financial statements and accounting policies review
  • IFRS impact assessment
  • Involved in the preparation of technical accounting memos on specific IFRS topics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, Accounting or Economics and strong academic credentials
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong communication skills
  • Fluent in English (reading, speaking, and writing)
  • 5+ years of public accounting or equivalent experience
  • Structuring Accounting
  • Technical accounting advisory experience
  • Experience in financial close processes, financial reporting, and financial controls
  • Strong on-the-job training skills and a desire to teach
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Good project and time management skills
  • Good writing skills and an ability to clearly document facts, issues, and resolutions of complex accounting matters
  • Good presentation skills and an ability to explain complex issues clearly and succinctly
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment
