The ME finance team require support to achieve the ambitious growth plans that we have for the Region.
Experience is required to bring technical and reporting excellence to the Middle East, ensuring the wider business is correctly supported.
This role is based in our Dubai office.
Job Description
You’ll be joining our Finance team in Dubai as an Accountant and key member of the team. You’ll be bringing your technical excellence, rigour, clarity and certainty to all accounting transactions and balance sheets.
You’ll need to be a team player with a tertiary accounting qualification, and experience working in an environment with conflicting pressures and heavy workloads.
You will be reporting into the ME Finance Controller.
What will you be doing?
Accounting
- Ensure balance sheet recons are kept up to date, on a month-by-month basis and scrutinizing existing balances for correctness.
- Intercompany account reconciliations with relevant action then being taken where necessary.
- Assisting with annual audit.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies – both external reporting standards and internal policies.
- Sound knowledge of project accounting principles and experience in project finance.
- Take responsibility for the month-end close transactions and procedures
- Month End reporting in line with group timetable
Payroll
- Preparation of monthly payroll, including overtime calculations.
- Generation of payroll journals and relevant payroll recons.
- Responding to payroll queries as and when required.
Tax
- Sound knowledge and current experience of GCC tax laws and practices (Corporations Tax, Withholding Tax, VAT)
Qualifications
- Relevant Accounting qualifications – This may include ACCA, MBA
- Prior experience of Middle East based MNC consultancy/construction industry experience or experience in a multinational corporation
- Efficiency – Able to work unsupervised and meet deadlines in line with local and group timetable.
- Confident communicator, able to deal with people at all levels
- Analytically minded, able to break down and understand information
- Must be comfortable with working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
