General Ledger Accountant

Overview

Responsibilities: Independent is for all ambitious and people who want to advance in their careers and we are currently looking to hire an experienced General Accountant to join our finance team in our Head Office in Tecom Dubai. Some of the key responsibilities for this role:

• Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain and update accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and other financial transactions.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, trends, and variances to identify areas of improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and potential risks. Provide recommendations based on analysis findings.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax, in a timely and accurate manner.
• Auditing: Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation, reconciling accounts, and addressing audit inquiries.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and streamline accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
• Financial Systems Management: Utilize accounting software and other financial systems to maintain records, generate reports, and facilitate financial transactions.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.

The successful candidate will have at least 8 years experience, with at least 4 years in as a general accountant (ideally in F&B/FMCG/Retail) and must possess superb attention to detail with the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.

You will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial concepts and ratios, and have extensive experience in Excel and other financial software.
Qualification: CA-Charted Accountant/ ACCA/ MBA Finance
