We are searching for an ambitious and energetic Senior Accountant ready to contribute to the growth of our finance team. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, our ideal candidate should have 5+ years of post-graduate accounting experience, possess attention to detail, and be driven to ensure the success of the projects they lead.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in various exciting projects, focusing on reporting financial performance and metrics, facilitating strategic decision-making, and implementing business performance measurement processes. Your responsibilities will include driving initiatives to improve the cash conversion cycle, enhancing the visibility and transparency of the budgeting process, and further automating and integrating accounting processes across different tools and systems used in the organization.
Mission:
The mission of the Senior Accountant is to ensure that our commercial, operational, and finance teams have access to the right data at the right time to facilitate and contribute to data-driven decision-making.
Accountabilities, Goals, and Outcomes:
- Ensure suppliers, employees, and regulatory authorities are paid on time, every time.
- Lead the on-time and accurate running of the month-end financial closing process.
- Lead the monthly financial performance reviews.
What You’ll Do:
- Contribute to optimizing the cash conversion cycle by managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Execute all general ledger transactions reporting and reconciliations.
- Review all major inventory processes and variances.
- Report on local statutory requirements such as VAT and corporate tax.
- Develop, execute, and maintain the evolution of departmental KPI dashboards.
- Generate and report on monthly financial performance and commentary packs to senior management.
- Analyze and report on cost driver performance and variances.
- Ensure ERP integrations and features are working accordingly and identify and implement regular process improvements.
- Collaborate with external auditors in carrying out statutory audits.
- Assist in the preparation of financial budgets and forecasts.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and/or professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CIMA, ACCA).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a mid-senior role.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, IFRS, and financial statements.
- Proven skills in analyzing financial data to support decision-making.
- Proficiency in cost accounting methodologies to analyze and manage the costs associated with ingredients, packaging, and distribution.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and inventory management systems is desirable.
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in financial performance.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to accounting standards.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven experience in successfully implementing process improvements in accounting processes.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
