This Management Accountant role is for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for supporting the growth of the business by driving improvements and developing key skills in managing the full range of financial and management accounts. You’ll play an important role in mapping and evaluating how the business can be most efficient.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Assist team in the accounting practices, managing credit, collection activities, and financial recordkeeping
  • Assist month-end closing procedures and ad hoc reporting.
  • Show judgment on when to elevate issues/requests and when to resolve independently
  • Play a key role in process improvements, optimize the use of software and drive automation to benefit teams involved
  • Recommend changes through observation/on the job to suit changing business and regulatory needs
  • Streamline tasks while ensuring accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Ensure precise allocation to various charts of accounts, entity and department tracking of business expenses, amortization, and maintenance of expenditure and revenue streams to determine the true outcome of Financial Statements, therefore, facilitating decision making.
  • Perform daily, monthly, and ad hoc reconciliations for all entities under the Hubpay group. Update, review, and reconcile all ledgers: Book-keeping, general and Sub Ledger + preparation and adjustments of journal entries, and ability to present outcomes/formulations in a clear, concise manner.
  • Running day-to-day accounting process in Xero and building out the associated MI suite
  • Owning the accounting function, covering all areas of P&L and Balance Sheet for all Hubpay entities.
  • Accurate posting of intercompany journals.
  • Ensure that VAT compliance and regulations for data maintenance and filing are fully met
  • Assistance with External and Internal audits while understanding various compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Interaction with auditors and financial advisors of the business.
  • Able to effectively communicate and troubleshoot open issues and resolve problems
  • Compile payroll and expense reimbursements for all entities of the Hubpay.
  • Contribute to building, implementing, and maintaining internal controls.
  • Informed decision making on the application of the accurate chart of accounts in line with business needs and accounting practices for both expenses and revenue streams
  • Interact with external customers and suppliers and internal stakeholders

A bit about you:

  • At least 3+ years of proven experience as a management accountant, accounting supervisor, or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, fully qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) is desirable.
  • Advanced experience with tools such as Excel, Xero, and other relevant tools to build detailed and complex reports and further continue to maintain and assist financial outcomes
  • Excellent English verbal & written language skills
  • Enjoys interacting with people and has a real problem-solving mindset
  • A keen eye for detail and demonstrate excellent accuracy with figures
  • Ability to multitask and to deliver quality while working in a fast-paced start-up environment.
