Role Profile:
Responsible for managing the entire Warehouse operations including the Warehouse teams, visitor controls, safety and security. Receive process and dispatch merchandise to stores.
Key Performance Area:
- Manage a team including workload, motivation, training and appraisals.
- Motivate own team to increase productivity.
- Ensure transparent communication.
- Escalate issues to the Line Manager as and when necessary.
- Ensure Supervision and Leadership of the team
- Appraise employees and monitor performance against set goals. Identify development needs and potential in order to assign appropriate job functions to develop them
- Plan and manage the stockade process.
- Obtain information from Shipping Department on incoming shipments.
- Plan and coordinate weekly and daily work processes with the Shift Manager.
- Ensure that all Distribution Centre Departments receive and process daily picking and store deliveries.
- Control operational spending in conjunction with the Operation Support Manager/ Distribution Operations Manager.
- Coordinate stock takes and cycle counts.
- Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained.
- Maintain tight security measures to avoid shrinkage in line with company targets.
- Ensure that Employees are trained and familiar with company policies and procedures.
- Interviews and hire Employees when approved.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports as required.
- Provide accurate performance and cost information.
Experience & Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of Warehouse/ Distribution Centre experience at a Shift Manager /Warehouse Management level.
- Experience in a multicultural work environment, fluent in English
- Positive attitude towards working under pressure in a high workload context
- Customer-focused, Service-oriented: good understanding of the impact of failure or low quality.
Skills :
- Leadership, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and best practices
- Knowledge in WMS, SAP or PowerBi is a plus.
- Analytical competencies, problem-solving
- Knowledge of JAFZA rules and regulations is a plus.
