Job Overview
Senior Accountant typically oversees the financial and management reporting of the business and works closely with the General Manager. His/her responsibilities also include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Publish financial statements in time
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Comply with financial policies and regulations
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action
- Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
- Maintain the financial health of the organization
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company actual performance compared to the business plans
- Develop trends and projections for the firmsย finances
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met
- Manage the preparation of the companiesย budget
- Liase with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
- Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- 5 Work experience as a Senior Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
- Advanced MS Excel and word skills
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
