Position Overview:

Contech Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Manufacturing Cost Controller to play a vital role in the effective management and control of manufacturing costs. As a Manufacturing Cost Controller, you will be responsible for implementing cost control procedures, analyzing manufacturing expenses, and providing accurate financial information to support decision-making. This position offers a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to make a significant impact on optimizing costs and driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust cost control procedures and processes specific to manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and financial plans.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, overheads, and other cost components, to identify potential deviations, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production managers and procurement, to establish realistic manufacturing budgets and forecasts that align with business objectives.
  • Monitor and track manufacturing expenses, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with budgeted targets.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports, financial analyses, and forecasts, providing timely and accurate information to management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify cost drivers, recommend corrective actions, and optimize manufacturing costs while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate vendor quotes, negotiate pricing, and analyze procurement costs to ensure cost competitiveness and support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to evaluate manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for cost savings, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure proper accounting and cost allocation for manufacturing-related activities.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to manufacturing cost control, recommending and implementing process enhancements as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, industrial engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Professional, Certified Management Accountant) are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Cost Controller, Cost Accountant, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing cost control principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in using cost control software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify cost drivers, and propose solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, taking ownership of cost control initiatives and driving results.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
