Objectives

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of significant funds and donation cycles within the organization. The primary objective is to efficiently manage substantial financial resources and ensure that funds are allocated effectively to support various entities in need. Additionally, the Finance Manager will play a crucial role in measuring and evaluating the impact of the disbursed funds, contributing to the organization’s overall mission of making a positive difference in the community.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies for the effective management of substantial funds and donation cycles.

• Implement and oversee the financial planning, accounting, budgeting, reporting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.

• Establish and supervise financial policies, workflows, and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations and internal standards.

• Lead audit processes and maintain relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.

• Evaluate funding requests and proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational budgets and priorities.

• Conduct thorough financial analysis and due diligence to assess the financial viability and impact potential of proposed projects.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop grant agreements, funding contracts, and other financial arrangements.

• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate financial performance, impact assessment findings, and recommendations to management and donors.

• Continuously assess and optimize fund management processes to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability.

• Stay abreast of financial best practices, and emerging opportunities in finance management and impact assessment.

• Identify financial risks and opportunities, developing and implementing risk management strategies.

• Provide financial guidance and support to project managers and heads of departments.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive grants management system, including the tracking of grant agreements, installments, reporting requirements, and audits.

• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

• Manage calendars and schedules for key financial activities and deadlines.

• Develop and maintain an organized and efficient filing system for financial documents, ensuring easy access and retrieval of information for audits, reporting, and reference purposes.

Who we are looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

• Proven experience 8+ years in financial management (preferably in NGO)

• Strong understanding of financial principles, investment strategies, and risk management practices.

• Demonstrated ability to manage large sums of money and make strategic financial decisions.

• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and perform quantitative analysis.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.

• Knowledge of impact assessment methodologies and evaluation frameworks.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in financial software and tools (Excel, QuickBooks software or ERP systems).
