Position Overview: Thumbay Group is seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong financial background, preferred experience in the healthcare or education sector, and will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organization. This position is based in Ajman, UAE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Oversee financial activities, including reporting, and auditing
- Manage financial teams, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives
- Monitor cash flow, preparing financial statements
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports in compliance with local regulations and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Internal Controls:
- Establish and maintain robust internal control processes to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular internal audits to identify and address potential financial risks.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring optimal utilization of financial resources.
- Implement effective cash management strategies to support the organization’s operational needs.
- Financial Decision Support:
- Collaborate with department heads and senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate and advise on investment opportunities and capital allocation.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the team’s compliance with accounting standards and ethical financial practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
Total Experience -15 plus years and 5 plus years of experience in a similar role.
- Chartered Accountant (CA)/ Masters in Finance and Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Finance Controller, preferably in the healthcare or education sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
