About the job

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the finance team in providing timely and accurate financial information to management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions and reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and prepare ad hoc reports to support management decision-making.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including preparation of tax returns, and provide support during tax audits.
  • Internal Controls: Review and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CIMA/ACCA or CA certification is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the petrochemicals, heavy industrial/ Manufacturing Plant, big plant factories.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, including preparation of financial statements and ad hoc reports.
  • Experience in tax compliance and reporting.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and best practices in accounting.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting & forecasting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Big4 audits experience is advantage
