The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the finance team in providing timely and accurate financial information to management.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions and reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and prepare ad hoc reports to support management decision-making.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including preparation of tax returns, and provide support during tax audits.
- Internal Controls: Review and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CIMA/ACCA or CA certification is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the petrochemicals, heavy industrial/ Manufacturing Plant, big plant factories.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and local GAAP.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, including preparation of financial statements and ad hoc reports.
- Experience in tax compliance and reporting.
- Knowledge of internal controls and best practices in accounting.
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting & forecasting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Big4 audits experience is advantage
