House of Shipping is recruiting for a Procurement Manager on behalf of its client Global Shipping Company.
Job Summary:
Procurement Manager / Senior Manager – Sea freight, Container Terminals and Depots
Excellent Opportunity in Procurement domain, with a rapidly growing NVOCC, based in Dubai.
You will be joining a vibrant team of experienced shipping professionals in a growing company, with trading interests, spread from Asia to Mediterranean.
The person will ensure that every dollar spent is spent professionally. This will be achieved by reducing operating expenses and driving a saving mindset by applying procurement capabilities and tools. The aim is to attain a competitive and operational asset base at low cost, on time.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
·Main Purpose of the Role – To support the Commercial Operations with efficient and judicious purchase of sea freight, terminal and depot rates in the most cost-effective manner.
The job role comes with a significant emphasis to optimize costs and increase the returned value from our suppliers, so that we can convey maximum value to our customers.
Main Tasks –
- Responsible to manage a portfolio spanning multiple countries and categories (feeder operators, shipping lines, container terminal operators, depot operators etc.)
- Develop, enhance and execute negotiations and supplier relationship management with our suppliers.
- Support the company to achieve sustainable solutions, in order to manage the balance between cost, service reliability and best in class service delivery to our customers.
- Address and Resolve problems in a structured and analytical manner.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder negotiations, as necessary.
What are we looking for –
- 7+ years in procurement management position. Procurement experience in Middle East, Red Sea and Mediterranean region is an added plus.
- Extensive negotiation skills
- Experienced in supplier relationship management and contract management.
- Excellent stakeholder management, with strong communication skills.
Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment, with a proactive mindset; experience in change management will be handy.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Minimum Graduate with 15 years’ experience in Shipping Operations, with at least 7 years’ experience in procurement management.
Must be able to communicate in English. Other languages will be an added advantage.
