About The Client
Our client is a Dubai-based international container shipping company specializing in transporting cargo. The company operates between the Far East, Middle East, Black Sea, and Indian subcontinent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial systems, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance.
- Provide financial advice to company management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage the accounting and finance staff.
- Prepare and review budgets.
- Perform internal audits.
- Coordinate with external auditors.
- Monitor and review current tax laws.
- Prepare financial statements for presentation to the board of directors.
- Evaluate new business opportunities and investments.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Accounting or similar field.
- 8-10 years of similar role experience, ideally in the Shipping industry
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Experience with ERP- Microsoft Dynamics AX/ SAP/Oracle is preferred.
- Proven ability to prioritize projects and initiate follow-through with meticulous attention detail.
