Venture Search are working with a financial institution in the DIFC to recruit an Assistant Financial Accountant for their team.
The objective of the job
The Assistant Financial Accountant is part of the Client Accounting team and works under the supervision of the Senior Financial Account Manager and Finance Manager and is responsible for the financial affairs relating to client companies in the allocated portfolio across a number of sectors within the UAE. The Financial Account Manager ensures the timely and optimal financial administration of client companies in line with local legislation and the clientโs expectations.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Accounting and bookkeeping services for a portfolio of clients, including preparation of journal entries, trial balance, balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows.
- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Assisting clients with VAT registration and preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
- Cash management including processing wire transfer payments from client bank accounts under client instructions.
- Monthly payroll reporting.
- Preparation of all client deliverables within the relevant deadlines.
- Time writing on a daily basis.
Required knowledge and experience
- Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or an equivalent.
- ACA / ACCA / CPA qualified or pursuing a professional accounting qualification such as these is desirable.
- Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- IFRS knowledge is preferable.
- Focus on client service and delivery.
- Attention to detail.
- Reliable and ethical approach.
- Ability to work independently but as a cooperative member of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
