The ideal candidate will be comfortable with driving and leading integration projects managing cross functional teams pre and post deal closure by providing program management and integration management expertise, and supporting cross functional global integration teams delivering M&A projects

Responsibilities

  • Support key stakeholders during negotiation phase of the acquisition projects
  • Support acquisition integrations globally from due diligence through integration planning, execution, reporting on progress
  • With support and coordination with key cross functional stakeholders, develop and drive development of an integration strategy
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders to develop detailed integration program management plan and program governance including setup of the integration team and related workstreams
  • Drive execution of the integration project, adapting and recalibrating as required to ensure the business result is achieved
  • Manage and implement synergies between IHS and customer /acquired partners to ensure seamless execution of the integration through the implementation phase and the post deal phase to ensure seamless financial closure and network handover
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure critical milestones are met, actively identify and solve cross functional integration issues and escalate risks to the integration timeline and business deal
  • Drive the setup of the new entity ensuring staff recruitment, structures and business processes are implemented
  • Regular reporting on project health in line with Governance
  • Conduct operational project meetings and executive steerco sessions
  • Ensure risks and issues are effectively managed/mitigated.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels, engaging and inspiring at senior levels internally and externally.
  • Create and maintain appropriate project management templates and tools
  • Conduct lessons learned to identify and implement improvements to our acquisition and integration processes. Assist in building and refining a repeatable M&A playbook to support high volume of acquisition and integration projects through deal lifecycle

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree or Business Administration
  • Certified project management (PMP, Prince 2)
  • 8 years’ experience managing diverse cross functional groups with a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing M&A integration and acquisition projects in the Towerco /Telecom sector, setting up new business entities in new jurisdictions
  • Strong program management experience
  • Ability to work with multi-cultural teams in complex engagements
  • Proven program management skills managing diverse complex integration projects across diverse cross functional teams and workstreams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to share deliverables and milestones at both operational and executive level
  • Strong legal and financial acumen
  • Understand budgeting and financial management.
  • Ability to build strong rapport with teams in acquired companies and or customer/seller organisation at various levels of the organisation
  • Strong collaborator with influencing skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships internally and externally.
