Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles
- Exceptional math skills and strong working knowledge of tax laws
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyze large amounts of data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with computers, especially bookkeeping software and MS Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work with little to no supervision
- Ability to manage and delegate tasks to subordinates if required
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
- Honest, ethical, and trustworthy
Responsibilities:
- Enter e-commerce orders from various channels and calculates customer balances on a monthly basis or as needed;
- Ensures accurate customs documentation is maintained for import and export invoices and filing of the respective paperwork;
- Monitor invoicing, accounts receivables, and payables matters and make timely payments to vendors via bank portal/cheque
- Oversee cash and other related cash accounts reconciliations on a regular basis
- Reconcile all bank transactions and communicate with the bank relationship manager on any relevant bank matters;
- File VAT reports, review VAT returns and ensure new & current transactions are correctly set up for VAT claims in compliance with VAT laws;
- Responsible for leading and executing the implementation of future tax compliance requirements;
- Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
- Summarizes financial status by doing a monthly review of profit and loss (income statement), balance sheet, and other statements.
- Maintains & ensures timely, accurate and complete booking of monthly and quarterly financials and participates in reconciliations, on a regular basis or as needed
- Oversee the daily activities of the accounting department and ensure that all major projects, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Oversee stock checks by ensuring all stakeholders co-ordinate in the stock check process, comply with relevant checklists; prepare and review major variance in inventory for input accuracy and errors
- Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned
- Protects the organization’s integrity by keeping information confidential
