Tarabut Gateway (TG) is the first and largest regulated Open Banking platform in the MENA, with offices in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UAE. TG connects a regional network of banks and FinTechs via a universal application programming interface (API). What You’ll Do…
You’ll be one of earliest hires and playing a key role in the software engineering team. Reporting into our Head of Engineering and working alongside our Chief Technology Officer.
Your focus will be spent on writing high-quality, testable code, creating payment capabilities using open banking rails and customising and extending our white-label solutions. Our Open Banking Payment product makes secure and faster processing of account to account payments at cheaper costs for merchants, utility providers and financial institutions.
As a result of the high growth and our speed of scaling, this is a role that can offer future opportunities to move up into the tech lead or management path based on your ambitions. We are looking for someone that is confident and collaborative, working very closely with various business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive the execution of multiple business plans and technologies. You’ll be responsible for implementing infrastructure as a code using microservices and producing clean, tested and refactored code. You will be expected to contribute building a culture of innovation and experimentation and support full software development lifecycle that incorporates the best of technology approaches and delivery methodologies. We’ll rely on you to analyse data, processes and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement to ensure we’re building this new wave of customer experience in the region.

We need you to have…
- Extensive experience with Java software development (Java 11+)
- Experienced with microservices architecture
- Experienced in architecture, design and delivery of data-intensive applications
- Experience with continuous integration/delivery tools
- Experience with source code control management systems and configuration management (Git a plus)
- Experience with modern architectural styles and practices such as microservices, containers, Cloud, SOA, RESTful services and event driven architecture
- Ability to proactively discover technical debts and continuous improvement opportunities to existing live systems
- Ability to apply architecture concepts, patterns and principles to real world scenarios pragmatically, by analysing architectural trade-offs for delivering high-quality, sustainable solution architecture
- Practical background or education in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data management, information systems, information science or other related quantitative field
- Experience with local and remote/distributed teams a plus
- Experience within the fintech, payments or Open Banking space a bonus
