Role Purpose

The Logistics Compliance Officer is responsible to drive required regulatory approval across all countries where Majid Al Futtaim Lifestyle and LEC entities operates. The role must have a valuable insight concerning the requirements and obligations of exporting and importing goods.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

Customer

  • Collate necessary information and updates on logistics regulatory compliance and to report the progress and implementation of the compliance programme to all concerned stakeholders.
  • Manage the regulatory approvals schemes effectively and efficiently across all product categories by liaising with the certification agencies to ensure that all required approvals are obtain and valid.
  • Coordinate with the brand, vendors and business entities to ensure that all GCC/International standards are met.
  • Having end to end ownership of the GCC regulatory approval including but not limited to SASO, KUCAS, ESMA, Dubai Municipality.
  • Identification of product requirements and applicable standards and support in Commodity tariff classification analysis and determinations.
  • Coordinate and advise on any authorization or special permits/approval for exports and imports in accordance with the applicable standards.
  • Assists in establishing, maintaining , and improving internal procedure to ensure import/export compliance.
  • Assists in developing and maintainng manual and guidelines related to product compliance.
  • Validate all logistics compliance related invoices and raise Purchase requisition and Purchase orders, follow up and monitor payment.
  • Identify areas of cost reduction and savings while maintaining the standards.
  • Identifies gaps / potential areas of compliance risk and make recommendations for improvement to avoid dealing with similar situations in the future.
  • Monitor service provider’s performance and escalate issues to the line manager.
  • Contribute and support the business in achieving the Dare Today, Change Tomorrow sustainability strategy.
  • Ensure awareness and understanding of the GCC regulation and cascade information to all the concerned brands and departments
  • Build strong professional relationships with the regulatory agencies, service provider and all internal customers across Majid Al Futtaim Lifestyle and LEC entities to ensure uninterrupted operation.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain/Engineering or relevant field

Experience

  • 3-5 years’ of relevant experience in Compliance role
  • Knowledgeable of International and GCC standards, import and export regulation
  • Retail industry experience is preferred
