UAE announces citizenship for skilled professionals, investors under new law

The decision about UAE nationality announced on Saturday, 30th Jan 2021 the government of UAE approved amendments to its citizenship law and opening citizenship for eligible foreigners.

The change in the law for Emirati nationality aims to ensure the social and professional stability of the people in the UAE and will help the country to boost the overall national and international development process.

The condition provided for investors is that they are required to own a property in the UAE.
As for skilled professionals including the medical doctors, Unique scientific in any specific field needed by the UAE, while having contributed to studies and research that have scientific value in their field.
In addition, they are to possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in that field and membership in a prestigious professional organisation in their field.
The prerequisite for scientists is that they need to move researchers in their field at a university, an enquiry institute or the private sector, have 10 years of experience therein field, have scientific contributions- like having won a prestigious scientific award, or having secured significant funding for his or her research for 10 years, additionally to a recommendation letter from a credited scientific institute within the UAE.
The law also aims to facilitate “Talented people”, which is further divided into two categories.
Firstly the investors, who are required by law to possess had a minimum of 1 patent certified by the UAE Ministry of Economy or any, accredited relevant international body, which features a true value to the UAE economy, additionally to a recommendation letter from the UAE Ministry of Economy.
Secondly, the intellectuals and artists, who are required to be pioneers in culture, arts and other talents with a minimum of 1 international award in those talents additionally to a recommendation letter from the UAE relevant bodies.
