- Analyse project costs, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead expenses.
- Develop and maintain cost estimation models to forecast project budgets accurately.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to optimize project profitability.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support project planning.
- Prepare regular reports on project financial performance, variance analysis, and cost trends.
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts as needed.
- Participate in the development and implementation of cost control procedures and best practices.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements relevant to cost accounting in the construction and maintenance sector.
Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
Qualification:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with a professional qualification, is required. CMA certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost analysis techniques, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems especially SAP is desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make recommendations.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial calculations and reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
