We are a dynamic commodity trading company based in Dubai, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting activities, including preparing financial reports, reviewing and booking journal entries and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits.
They must possess a strong business acumen, be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, and have a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
Financial Records Management:
- Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and documented.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts, making adjustments as necessary.
Financial Reporting Support:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Support senior team members in the preparation of financial statements.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Handle accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communication.
- Assist with accounts receivable, ensuring accurate invoicing and collections.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform routine bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
Tax Assistance:
- Support in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
- Assist with tax-related inquiries and maintain tax records.
Others:
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of the Profit and Loss statements on a regular basis.
- Identify and investigate any discrepancies or irregularities in financial data.
- Prepare and present detailed P&L and BS reports for management.
- Ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of financial and accounting principles.
Detail-Oriented:
- A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to work.
Adaptability:
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing accounting standards and practices.
