Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as an Accountant Payroll Officer or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing procedures and relevant regulations.
  • Proficient in using Tally software for payroll processing.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with tax laws, social security contributions, and other payroll-related regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with employees and management.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar are a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to company policies, employment contracts, and legal requirements.
  • Calculate wages, salaries, deductions, and other adjustments based on attendance records, time sheets, and relevant payroll data.
  • Verify and reconcile payroll reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, social security contributions, and other statutory requirements related to payroll processing.
  • Maintain employee records, including personal information, payroll data, and tax-related documentation.
  • Prepare and distribute pay slips or statements to employees.
  • Handle inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and other payroll-related matters from employees and management.
  • Collaborate with HR personnel to ensure accurate employee data is captured for payroll processing.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements related to payroll, as required.
  • Perform periodic audits of payroll data to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits related to payroll.
