Overview/Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Cost Controller / Commercial Advisor with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical projects.
This role is Permanent / staff and will be based in Wood Abu Dhabi office.
Purpose/Role:
Provision of effective commercial / contract co-ordination / administration and cost for various projects in UAE, in accordance with all relevant WOOD commercial policies and procedures.
Prime Responsibilities And Duties:
- Ensuring that projects operate in accordance with all relevant WOOD commercial policies and procedures
- Ensuring that project invoicing is carried out in accordance with terms and conditions of contract and that cash position maximised
- Ensuring that cost / value reporting and end life forecasting on project are undertaken in accordance with WOOD policies and procedures and that the appropriate values are reflected in the management accounts
- Submission of variation and contract amendment requests and claims in accordance with contract requirements
- Agreement of final accounts and close out of contracts in accordance with contract requirements
- Placement and management of sub-contracts in accordance with relevant WOOD policies and procedures and in a manner which optimizes WOOD’s commercial position
- Ensuring that sub-contract documentation is in accordance with WOOD policy and procedural requirements
- Evaluation and settlement of sub-contractor claims
- Provision of commercial and contractual advice to Project Managers and Commercial Manager
- Ensuring that cost reports to Client in respect of the project are provided
- Ensuring that KPI schemes are administered in accordance with the terms of the relevant contract
- Ensuring that revised contract rates are built up and submitted in accordance with the terms of the relevant contract
- Ensuring that bonds and guarantees are released in accordance with their terms
- Ensuring that project costs are effectively controlled
- Ensuring that payments to WOOD are made in accordance with the terms of the contract
- Ensuring that risk management techniques are applied on projects
- Preparation of correspondence in connection with project contractual matters
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in business administration, commerce, quantity surveying, or similar discipline
- Minimum 5 years in commercial field with 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong cost control experience within GCC Major oil and gas and construction clients
- Individual should have work experience in the industry which would allow understanding of and exposure to key contracting concepts and principle
- Good working knowledge and experience of commercial administration and procedures
- Experience in drafting and interpretation of contractual documentation
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office such as Excel, PowerPoint is a must
