Role Objective
The Assistance Finance Manager is responsible for implementing and monitoring accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements while maintaining proper internal controls.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities:
Ā· Supervise staff in the Finance Department for timely preparation and submission of accounting information for the purpose of periodic reviews, audit of financial statements and providing financial information to the management as requested
Ā· Supervises and directs finance and accounting activities such as budgeting & forecasting, accounting, treasury, audit, and fixed assets management including safeguarding, inventory controls, assets count and obtaining insurance policies
Ā· Oversee the functioning of accounts payable and receivable
Ā· Oversees the preparation of daily bank report and funds planning
Ā· Preparation of Monthly Profit & Loss report and Balance Sheet.
Ā· Analyze financial statements and report variances from budgeted amounts and agreed on business targets
Ā· Liaise with internal and external auditors
Ā· Oversees the provision of financial requirements of Auditors and Bank
Ā· Oversees and reviews the production of Periodic Payment Plans
Ā· Analyzes the feasibility, CAPEX Control, and break even reports of current and new locations
Ā· Reviews the preparation and reconciliation of sales reports
Ā· Monitor and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing procedures
Ā· Analyzing expenses reports incurred by all outlets
Ā· Prepares reports as requested by Management
Ā· Verifies and finalizes monthly staff Payroll, Leave Salary, Indemnity, Overtime, Commissions and Benefits
Ā· Oversees and approves the creation of accounts, sub accounts in the accounting system
Budgeting and Planning
Ā· Provides information and inputs for planning, forecasting and budget
Recruitment and Performance Management
Ā· Monitors and performs annual performance review of subordinates
Ā· Identifies the training needs of the Accounts Department
Experience Required:
Ā· Bachelorās/ Post graduate degree in Accounting, Finance
Ā· CA/CMA preferred
Ā· At least 7 years of previous experience with a minimum of 3 years similar experience to the responsibilities outlined above
In case the required years of experience were not met, candidates with exceptional skills may be considered for the position
Skills Required:
Ā· Experience and rational judgment and attention to detail and follow-up skills
Ā· Knowledge of accounting systems and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Ā· Familiar with financial ERP systems
Ā· Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely manner
Ā· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Ā· Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information
