The Financial controller should be results-driven and confident to manage and improve organization’s financial performance and direct accounting operations.

Duties for the financial controller will include managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, preparation of financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.

Ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized, and have excellent leadership skills. The financial controller should streamline accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysis and reports, train staff on business finance issues, promote regulatory compliance.

Principal Accountabilities

Ā· Overseeing the preparation of the audited financial statements, and any other regulatory reporting requirements.

Ā· Strong knowledge of MS Dynamix Accounting System.

Ā· Reviewing compliance of Group VAT Returns.

Ā· Implementation of Corporate Tax

Ā· Compliance with Insurance requirements

Ā· Responsibility over bank accounts/cash and cash forecasts

Ā· Review of monthly Accounts Payables & Receivables Control account summary.

Ā· Co-ordinating and supporting the financial planning and analysis team with accurate data for preparation of the yearly budget.

Ā· Co-ordinating and liaising with internal/external auditors and resolving any bottle-necks in a timely manner to ensure audits progress as per plan.

Ā· Strong involvement and support in Audit/Board committee pack preparation.

Ā· Monthly review of general ledger financial closing plan and monthly review of system of internal controls over accounting transactions.

Ā· Keep Manager informed of any potential issues, liabilities, or opportunities as they arise.

Ā· Review all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate IFRS standards and regulatory requirements.

Ā· Summarizes monthly activity and prepares reports to analyze and assess significant fluctuations and/or discrepancies.

Ā· Support management for ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:Ā BCom, MBA, CPA, CFA

Work Experience

Ā· 10+ years of proven experience in Finance/Accounting

Ā· Long-term Projects Industry experience preferred

Knowledge

Ā· Strong knowledge of IFRS, Internal controls

Ā· Awareness of applicable local regulatory laws and rules

Ā· Proficiency in accounting software
