Role Purpose

Responsible for establishing global Third-party logistics (3PL) business for a new start-up company, in accordance with corporate objectives (i.e. revenue & profit targets, product growth initiatives, etc). Based in UAE this role requires highly motivated individual with a strong skill set, capable of developing Contract Logistics Business, Transportation & Freight Forwarding Business.

Job Description

• Generate new business within the scope of Freight Forwarding (Air, Land & Sea Freight) by providing supply chain solutions to clients across all industry sectors.
• Support the sales strategy and budget process with focus on Contract Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Automotive Logistics, and Road Transport Business Development
• Reflects excellent leadership qualities
• Completes sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees & following up on work results.
• Find & develop qualified leads (cold calling), then convert them through the sales process into prospects and customers. Continuously keep the sales pipeline full with deals at various types and stages, including fresh/new (qualified) leads/introductions, mid and late stage sales life cycle targets. The ideal sales pipeline will always be full with a wide variety of account types, company sizes, diversified industries, transactional vs. strategic business and services offered.
• Maintains sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Performs regular (daily) visits to qualified prospects and customers to drive the business and grow the company’s revenue, market share and profitability.
• Builds relationships at all levels and represents the company in a professional manner, including making presentations.
• Ensure pricing structure for sea carriers and air carriers are in place.
• Secure credit limit with carriers / transporter for both sea and air, land
• Develop Worldwide agent network & Maintain good relations with overseas agents.
• Manage receivables within set limits by a) Ensuring customers are given credit within the set limits; and b) Meeting the collection team on a weekly basis and sorting out issues on outstanding.

Qualification/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management
• Minimum 10+ years of Business Development experience within a 3PL organization in the UAE
• In-depth (functionally specific) job knowledge and experience, including contract Logistics management, transportation, ocean & air freight, both import and export.
