The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing ADNOC Trading’s general accounting operations by assisting in day to day accounting and financial transactions, invoicing of sales from CTRM/SAP, settlement of trade purchase invoices, process initial margin and record and process all trading cost related invoices. The person in this role will primarily be involved in trade accounting, financial accounting, operations accounting for ADNOC Trading (“AT”).
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Undertake invoicing for sale transactions, liaise with customers for sending invoices and agree prices, quantity prior to finanlizing invoices;
- Record purchase invoices in CTRM/SAP, process vendor payments for trade purchases;
- Record costs relating to trades in CTRM/SAP and process payments on a periodic basis;
- Undertake accounting of day to day financial transactions in SAP/any other system which may be used for accounting purposes;
- Undertake reconciliation of all accounts as may be required from time to time;
- Review and process all non-trade payments after ensuring adequate documentation is required for audit purposes;
- Verify supporting documents for all non-trade payments to ensure it pertains to AT and correct period and initiate payments;
- Support the monthly close process, reconcile accounts, ensure compliance and generate internal financial reporting packages and requisite analysis;
- Compile reports required for monthly reporting, quarterly reporting and annual reporting for group purposes;
- Support in reconciling the monthly IFRS results and trading profit and loss;
- Assist in testing of internal controls by supporting Manager technical accounts, for management test of ICoFR in line with ADAA requirements;
- Document processes and procedures, as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree, Finance or Accounting
- Qualified in any professional course relating to finance like CA, ACCA, CMA, CPA etc.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum 8 years’ experience
- UAE/Middle East experience of 2 years will be preferred
- 3+ years of working knowledge of SAP/Other ERP systems at data processing level;
- Working experience with any Big 4 firm (either in a big 4 firm or in an entity audited by big 4 firm with direct interaction with auditors) will be preferred;
- Working experience in preparing financial statements under IFRS and accounting standards
- Familiarity with CTRM systems will be an added advantage;
- Commodities Trading knowledge – keeps up to date with international events and geo-political climate, accounting for trading commodities and financial instruments within the energy sector
- Financial Knowledge – financial planning and strategy, managing profitability, quality management, promoting process improvement, forecasting, corporate finance, developing budgets, knowledge of financial reporting requirements (including financial reporting standards according to IFRS) to be able to produce financial and management accounts that accurately reflect the operations of the business
