Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of accounting matters including bookkeeping, preparing and reconciling statements, and reconciliation and payment processing
- Update and analyze general ledger accounts including bank accounts, receivables, and payables accounts, and perform reconciliations
- Prepare excel schedules of main P&L and balance sheet items
- Perform investment monitoring and distribution processing
- Review budgets vs actual results and highlight/explain reasons for major deviations on a monthly basis
- Prepare monthly, bi-annual, and annual financial reports & statements
- Create presentations and analysis summarizing the financial performance of investments
- Co-ordinate year-end audits
- Liaise with tax advisers and provide the required information
- Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to policies, processes & standards
- Ad-hoc tasks as required by management
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
Qualifications
- Accounting degree or qualification required
- 5+ years post qualification experience
- Ideally has exposure to investment industry / financial services in a recognized jurisdiction
Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with good analytical skills
- Strong business acumen with a willingness to provide management orientated insights
- Focused on providing accurate and on-time reports to clients
- Self-motivated and capable to work independently
- Well-spoken with good written English with strong communication skills
- Strong understanding of accounting standards
- Hands-on experience with accounting software
- Competent in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills (vlookups, sumifs, pivot tables)
