Overview
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities:
- Accountable to the leading Firefighter for the effective delivery of emergency response.
- Participates in a crew of firefighters involved in firefighting, oil and gas release control measures, rescue, and medical emergencies.
- Performs fire and rescue tasks defined in Pre-Incident Planning / Incident Management Guide, under the command of the TRT Leader or their deputy.
- Perform safety standby duties as determined by a Task Risk Assessment and required by site management such as specialist standby / aviation standby, and hot work stand-by duties using firefighting equipment, breathing apparatus and specialist rescue equipment during plant routine maintenance and project works.
- Participates in the testing and maintenance of a full range of fire fighting vehicles, lifesaving equipment & firefighting equipment. Participates in the testing of fixed and mobile fire protection systems. Operates all company vehicles and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Educates site personnel and contractors on hazards of flammable / toxic substance and emergency evacuations.
- Undertakes preventative maintenance activities as required by site management to ensure availability/readiness of emergency response equipment.
- Where identified; additional roles (Fire Truck Operators) are allocated for Firefighters to ensure the emergency response capability of the Fire & Rescue Teams are maintained – Manoeuvre and Operate Fire Trucks including all associated Firefighting systems to meet the needs of Fire & Rescue activities.
- Conduct e-PTW assessments, observe unsafe actions & conditions report it through HSE Observation.
- Participates actively in all emergency drills / exercises / trainings.
- Participates in MOCS training on regular basis to maintain the required competency and professional skills.
- Maintains physical fitness requirements.
- Works in harmony with colleagues to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a team.
- Post holder work on 12-hour day/night shift basis and is required if necessary, to respond to emergency incidents outside of his normal working shift.

- Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures, to accomplish operational objectives.
Training
- Provide on-the-job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.
Tool Box
- Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.
- Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.
Time Management
- Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
- Inform the Maintenance Supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
- Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.
Housekeeping
- Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.
Reports
- Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for.
Company Management.
- Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS :
Internal
- Work in a group or team, receiving work direction from the Lead Fire fighter.
- Work in accordance with company procedures and manufacturers maintenance procedures.
External
- Deals with Contractors, other partners, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Minimum Qualification
- Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 4 years of experience involved in firefighting and rescue / fire protection / fire prevention / emergency response and the use of life support / lifesaving equipment within the Oil & Gas industry.
