We are searching for an exceptional Senior General Accountant for an immediate opening in our Dubai, UAE studio, to serve our diverse client base in urban, retail, healthcare and hospitality projects. Desired Experience: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior General Accountant with a minimum of 7 years of experience in managing and overseeing all accounting operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing financial activities, advising upper management, and supporting strategic decision-making to help the company achieve its financial goals. Experience in architectural or consulting firms is highly valued.
Your Experience: You must have knowledge of advanced accounting including Revenue Recognition models. MS Office and QuickBooks, Xero.
Role Description: This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior General Accountant. The Senior General Accountant will be responsible for accounting tasks such as:
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, invoicing, and general ledger management.
- Oversee and execute detailed Work-in-Progress Accounting, collaborating with project teams for accurate financial tracking. Monitor and drive collections efforts, ensuring timely receipt of payments from clients. Contract and manage relationships with external financial service providers (auditors, bankers, investment consultants).
- Track the company’s financial status, prepare monthly and annual financial reports, and present these to senior executives and clients.
- Analyze financial data to recommend strategies for minimizing risks and optimizing financial performance.
- Implement and uphold internal accounting policies and ensure compliance with local financial laws and regulations.
- Prepare and process salaries, VAT, and WPS payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Conduct tax assessments and reporting as required by authorities. Stay updated on industry trends and technological advances, implementing them as needed to improve financial operations.
- Provide guidance on Revenue Recognition models and accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, MS Office). Lead and mentor accounting team members, fostering collaboration and growth.
- Excellent English communication is required: in person, phone, email, composition, writing and grammar.
