Senior Accountant

Overview

The Role:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of our diverse investment portfolio. You will ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial records, support month-end and year-end close processes, and provide insightful financial analysis to drive informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries for fixed assets, accruals, deferred rent, prepayments, and other balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Month-End Close: Execute month-end close activities, including detailed close analysis, bank reconciliations, and preparation of year-end audit schedules.
• Financial Reporting: Review and reconcile financial reports, rent rolls, accounts receivable, CAM charges, percent rent charges, and management fees to ensure alignment with the general ledger.
• Accounts Payable: Manage full-cycle accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Tax Filings: Prepare sales and use tax filings in compliance with local regulations.
• Budget Monitoring: Monitor income and expenses against budgeted amounts, identifying and addressing variances.
• Third-Party Management: Review third-party management reports for accuracy and completeness, ensuring data integrity across all financial documentation.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or CPA certification is preferred.
• Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience within the Real Estate & Construction industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Additional Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
