About the job

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial analysis and support.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Process invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.

General Ledger Maintenance:

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
  • Prepare journal entries and ensure accurate coding of transactions.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations.

Compliance and Audits:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Prepare audit schedules and provide support as needed.

Tax Preparation:

  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and filings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax documents.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and laws.

Other Duties:

  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Provide support to other departments as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
