About the job
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations of a new longevity medical clinic in the UAE. This role is suited for a detail-oriented accounting professional with a solid background in the medical industry. The Senior Accountant will oversee daily accounting functions, prepare financial reports, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and support financial planning and analysis efforts that align with the clinic’s goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports; conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and performance evaluation.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing the annual budget and conduct monthly variance analysis; provide insights on financial trends and recommend actions to meet budgetary goals.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare financial regulations, tax requirements, and industry standards; stay informed of changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Cost Management: Track and analyse costs associated with medical services, supplies, and overhead to improve profitability and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits; ensure all financial documentation is in order and compliant with audit requirements.
- Inventory and Asset Management: Manage fixed assets and inventory accounting, ensuring proper valuation and accounting for medical equipment and supplies.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls, implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or CMA is an advantage).
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in the healthcare or medical industry, ideally within a clinic or hospital setting in the UAE.
- Strong understanding of UAE tax laws, healthcare-specific financial regulations, and accounting standards.
- Previous experience of working with banks and understanding KYC and Payment procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with healthcare-focused ERP systems is preferred).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial analysis techniques within the medical sector.
