Senior Accountant

Overview

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent) with strong Big 4 experience and proven expertise in fintech or financial services. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting standards, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Ensure accurate general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Prepare and review financial statements and internal management reports.
• Manage regulatory reporting and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as required.
• Support the development and improvement of internal controls, processes, and automation initiatives.
• Participate in cross-functional projects including new product launches and financial systems upgrades.
• Oversee the accounting treatment for complex transactions including revenue recognition, deferred costs, and equity accounting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

Key Requirements:

• Qualified accountant – CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience, including at least 2–3 years in a Big 4 accounting firm.
• Hands-on industry experience in fintech, digital banking, payments, or technology-driven financial services is essential.
• Strong command of IFRS and experience in audits and external reporting.
• Proficient in Excel, ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion), and accounting tools.
• Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and a “can-do” attitude.
