Job Purpose:

The role holder is responsible for statutory reporting and related activities for DH Group Services (GS), covering a DH Vertical portfolio. The role will also support the Director – Statutory Reporting in enabling value creation within the DH GS Finance sub-function through continuous improvement and optimisation of existing processes. The role will lead the team to foster customer centricity and service excellence, aligned to the DH GS shared vision.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor internal team to ensure adherence to processes, guidelines, and protocols for statutory reporting activities in line with set standards and protocols delivering on agreed SLAs
  • Support the Director – Statutory Reporting in tracking and meeting relevant key performance indicators, identifying operational gaps in meeting team goals and guiding internal teams to help achieve it
  • Support the Director – Statutory Reporting in reviewing the finance function activities and manage internal teams in the implementation of improvements within the statutory reporting function process workflows
  • Interface and act as the first point of contact with relevant finance function stakeholders, resolve issues and escalate challenges as required
  • Support the execution of special projects and initiatives to ensure continuous value addition by GS Finance in line with business goals
  • Stay abreast of latest updates to relevant the relevant IFRS (including IFRS 7, 9, 13, 15 and 16) for all statutory reporting requirements
  • Manage the integration of the latest regulatory developments into existing DH GS finance statutory reporting process
  • Ensure preparation and review of all DH Vertical entities standalone statutory reports and associated financial statements in compliance with IFRS and submit for review of relevant DH HQ and vertical finance stakeholders
  • Ensure preparation and review of consolidated statutory reports and associated financial statements for all DH entities and submit for review of relevant DH HQ and vertical finance stakeholders
  • Support financial audits by sharing relevant information and providing clarifications as required to regulatory stakeholders and auditors
  • Manage the timely submission of statutory and regulatory reports as required for statutory and regulatory authorities
  • Providing accurate and timely financial information to investors, including annual and quarterly reports as part of the Group Reporting pack
  • Collaborate with other GS Finance teams to ensure the financial data is accurate and up to date
  • Consult with legal teams to ensure that all statutory and regulatory reporting are in compliance with applicable laws and regulation
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure that DH is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Review internal controls and monitoring reports to ensure compliance with DH policies and external regulations
  • Ensure adherence to the risk assessment framework and checklists across all operations, systems, and processes; review risk assessment outcomes and identify relevant internal controls to close vulnerabilities
  • Provide inputs on developing and monitoring implementation of effective statutory reporting policies and procedures to minimize financial risks across Finance GS operations
  • Review internal audit internal control recommendations, and implement mitigation measures / process improvements to close the same

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Commerce / Business Administration (Finance)
  • Additional qualifications such as ACCA or ACA
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in finance function, with at least 2 years of experience in leading teams
  • Strong understanding of Finance function and processes
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting and regulations is preferable
  • Experience working in a finance shared services is preferred
  • Experience working in the Middle East region is preferred
  • Financial reporting know-how
