Internal Auditor

Overview

The Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the organization’s internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. This role involves conducting independent audits to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, identifying areas for improvement, and providing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on internal audit engagements across various departments and functions.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
• Identify weaknesses or gaps in processes and recommend improvements.
• Review compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
• Evaluate the accuracy and reliability of financial and operational information.
• Assist in fraud detection and prevention activities.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and the audit committee.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure implementation of corrective actions.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends relevant to internal auditing.
• Support the development of internal audit policies and procedures.

Qualification and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (CIA, CA, ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in internal auditing.
• Prior experience in a multinational organization or a large diversified local group is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP or Oracle.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, governance, internal control frameworks, and auditing standards, Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
