Job Title: Financial Analyst

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst with 4-5 years of experience in product-level financial analysis, cost management, and profitability evaluation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing insights into product-wise profitability by accurately calculating product costs, including landing costs, and analyzing variances in both direct and indirect costs. This role requires a strong understanding of cost structures, meticulous data analysis, and the ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations for business improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

– Analyze product-wise sales data to evaluate profitability and profit margins across the product portfolio.

– Conduct in-depth analysis of gross margins, identifying underperforming products and recommending strategies for improvement.

– Collaborate with the sales and pricing teams to align pricing strategies with profitability objectives.

– Accurately calculate product landing costs by factoring in procurement, shipping, customs duties, and other related costs.

– Develop and maintain a framework for tracking and updating landing costs for all SKUs.

– Identify cost-saving opportunities in the supply chain and recommend changes to enhance cost efficiency.

– Analyze indirect costs and overheads to determine their impact on overall product profitability.

– Collaborate with operational teams to address cost discrepancies and identify corrective actions.

– Prepare detailed dashboards highlighting product profitability, cost structures, and key performance metrics.

– Present findings and insights to senior management, providing actionable recommendations for strategic decision-making.

– Work closely with procurement, sales, and operations teams to ensure data integrity and consistency in cost calculations.

– Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in financial analysis.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or certifications like CFA/CPA/CMA is a plus).

– 4-5 years in financial analysis, cost management, or a related role, preferably in a trading, retail, or manufacturing environment.

– In-depth knowledge of cost accounting, landing cost calculations, and profitability analysis.

– Proficient in advanced MS Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas; experience with Power BI.

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively across departments.

– Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
