Job Title: Financial Accountant | Location: Dubai, UAE

Reports To: Finance Manager | Employment Type: Full-time

Job Overview:

The Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the effective management of accounts receivable and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and adept at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills, as the Financial Accountant will regularly collaborate with leadership from different departments, as well as handle financial tasks with precision and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Receivable: Oversee and manage receivables across all markets to ensure timely collections and smooth cash flow.
  • Prepare Financial Reports: Develop and present monthly financial statements that assess the company’s performance and offer strategic recommendations.
  • General Ledger Oversight: Maintain and manage the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and preparation for annual audits.
  • Tax Compliance: Handle VAT filings, assist with tax audits, and ensure full compliance with UAE tax laws and regulations.
  • Month-End/Year-End Closing: support the team on the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Department Support: Communicate effectively with other departments to streamline processes, address issues, and provide financial insights for business decisions.
  • Assist in Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to assist in budget planning and financial forecasting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Must-Haves:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional credentials.
  • Experience: Proven experience (1-3 years) as an Accountant or Auditor in the UAE, ideally in a fast-paced corporate environment. Extensive experience in managing general ledger functions, month-end/year-end closing, and financial reporting.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel(e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and other financial software (preferred experience in XERO accounting).
  • Knowledge of ERP systems or financial software implementation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT regulations and tax filing requirements in the UAE.
  • Hands-on experience with forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysisto support decision-making processes.
  • Core Competencies: High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational skillswith the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communicationskills, capable of articulating financial data and analysis clearly to non-finance colleagues and senior management.
  • Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Other Requirements: Commitment to adhering to company policies, legal regulations, and best practices in accounting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentand adapt to changing priorities.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior experience in Insurtech, Fintech, or a regulated financial servicesor in the insurance industry.
  • Familiarity with IFRS(International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Prior experience with MACROS and Visual basics.
  • Willingness to learn and bring new ideas to the team and department.
  • Experience with corporate tax from the UAE or other countries.

Compensation

  • The salary designated for this role is up to 7K AED, with room for negotiation and the benefits attached to the role are as per UAE law.
