Job Outline
- Ensure all financial applications support is provided in line with respective Service Level Agreement (SLAs) helping to keep the lights with support from IT. It is expected that the person in this role suggests root cause fixes towards permanent resolution for identified recurring issues.
- Provide consultancy & business support related to financial applications, assisting the end-user community to utilise systems effectively and helping enable the evolving business processes via solutions provided through improved system functionality on a continuous basis.
- Explore & suggest new features in financial applications to continuously improve the products under management. This applies to internal and external (vendor-based) applications.
- Maintain regression test packs, conduct first level of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new features, enhancements & bug-fixes for financial applications. Find innovative ways to continuously improve the testing cycle for FA&MM, optimizing time and resources for the department.
- Help write Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs), user guides and setup / configuration documents for systems (core configuration) & functional masters for financial applications.
- Action user access management & functional masters update requests while being compliant with defined policies, standard operating procedures (SoPs) and SLAs to help protect group assets
- Support periodical review of users and operational masters to ensure maintenance of healthy master data compliant to policies and processes
- Configure applications in line with the approved setup & configuration documents to maintain the respective financial application in good health to ensure accurate financial information processing.
- Understand the existing business processes being supported and support the change enablers in training & adoption
- Manage own performance & continuous learning plan. Help improve performance of the unit, help other members in the team with their development to support succession planning.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Degree or Honors (12+3 or equivalent) in Technology, Finance or Accounting related would be preferred.
Candidates with demonstrable continuous self-development through career would have higher consideration.
Experience
5+ years Functional (Finance and/or Accounting) in a Supervisory capacity
Knowledge/skills
- Functional knowledge of Financial Applications highly desired which include but not limited to:
- ERP Finance (Oracle Financials eBS preferred),
- Airline Revenue Accounting, Direct Operating Costs
- Payment Gateway
- Treasury
- Planning, Forecasting, Consolidation & Budgeting
- Reporting / Analytics
- Ability to pick-up any financial application, understand how it fit in the overall technology landscape and how it enables the finance function
- Sound Accounting & Taxation knowledge
- Operational Finance Knowledge
- Ability to understand finance processes from a system and operational perspective
- Experience in handling master management functions, preferably in an airline
- Basic product and/or project management skills
