Overview

Job Description: The incumbent will take full ownership of the financial aspects of the Tamraat BU, which includes preparing, managing, and analyzing the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. The incumbent will be responsible for producing monthly financial statements and Management Information Systems (MIS) reports, providing key insights for decision-making. Key tasks include managing business plans, preparing budgets, and presenting them to senior management, while also conducting financial analysis and forecasting to ensure business goals are achieved. Furthermore, the incumbent will manage inventory levels, including tracking aging stock and managing wastages, particularly in the context of fresh produce. The role also involves overseeing accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection and accurate reporting. Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting based on business needs will also be a key part of the incumbent’s responsibilities.

People Management:

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the finance team supporting Tamraat BU, ensuring efficient operations within the finance department. This includes fostering a collaborative work environment, leading, mentoring, and developing team members, and ensuring that communication is effective within the team. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring that team members adhere to GMG’s finance policies and procedures and work towards achieving the department’s strategic goals. The role involves problem-solving and providing leadership in managing team performance and development.

Functional/Technical Competencies:

The incumbent must have expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. The role requires advanced skills in financial modeling, budgeting, and variance analysis to support business operations. The incumbent must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial reporting and presentations. Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is essential, with additional familiarity with Power BI and Power Query being highly desirable. Experience in month-end closing processes, inter-company reconciliations, and financial compliance is required for the role.
